Since its founding in 1983, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac has run its own publishing house and produced over 300 books to-date, extending its curatorial approach to the printed space and widening the scope of its exhibitions with new and in-depth scholarship. In addition to catalogues that accompany exhibitions, our publications include scholarly monographs, compendiums, historical surveys, as well as compilations of artists’ writings, artists’ books and literary commissions. Close collaborations with prominent art historians, curators and writers include Germano Celant, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Max Hollein, Catherine Millet, Norman Rosenthal, Carla Schulz-Hoffmann, Reinhard Spieler and Corinna Thierolf as well as Nobel Prize Laureates Mario Vargas Llosa, Orhan Pamuk and poet Friederike Mayröcker. The gallery also regularly publishes books in collaboration with institutions, most recently with The Hermitage, Saint Petersburg, Russia; Palazzo Cini La Galleria, Venice, Italy; Kunsten Museum of Modern Art, Aalborg, Denmark and the Louvre Museum, Paris, France.
Our publications are distributed internationally via our online bookstore, and available to purchase at our galleries and the bookshops of museums internationally where our artists’ exhibitions are on view.
