SUPPORTING YOUNG ARTISTS

120 Artists Selected By Jeune Création To Show Works At The Large-Scale Pantin Gallery Space

All Sales Proceeds To Go Directly To The Artists And Their Galleries

In solidarity with the artistic community in these challenging times, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac Paris Pantin hosts the exhibition 'En Être' in collaboration with the artist association, Jeune Création, in support of young and emerging artists and galleries. The gallery’s 2,000m2 exhibition space is dedicated to showcasing the work of around 120 artists selected to participate by Jeune Création to foster the promotion and sales of their work with all sales proceeds going directly to the artists and their galleries.

Thaddaeus Ropac comments, 'This is an unprecedented time for so many, but within the art world particularly challenging for the next generation of artists and young galleries. By offering our largest gallery space and our full infrastructure to present works by 120 young artists we can support those who are most in need.'

Jérémy Chabaud, Director of Jeune Création, states, 'In this troubled period of health crisis, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac and Jeune Création unite with vigour and reinforced solidarity to affirm their support to artists. Everyone will be invited to create, reflect and act together in favour of creative freedom.'

The exhibition in Pantin entitled 'En Être' is presented by Jeune Création as ‘a recreation ritual celebrating the joys and anguish of the world, its deaths and rebirths’. 120 artists show a large range of works spanning painting, sculpture, installation, performance, photography and video, reflecting the diversity of current practices and interrogations. Comprising a selection of individual and collective works, the show is displayed across the high-ceiling halls of the Pantin gallery. A special program will take place in the courtyard of the gallery, notably a performance ritual around the equinox of the 22th September at 7pm. The last day of the exhibition will be celebrated with a series of performances on Saturday 26th September from 2pm to 7pm.

In addition to the main venue of Jeune Création at our gallery in Pantin, other sections of the exhibition program “En être” will be displayed at Cabane Georgina in Marseille (22th August – 20th September), at the Oscar Niemeyer Space in Paris (11th – 25th September, opening on Friday 11th of September from 6 to 10pm) and at Galerie Jeune Création in Romainville (12th to 26th September, opening on 12th September, 12pm – 10pm) reflecting on the variety of around 200 artists in total.

Founded in 1949, Jeune Création has been supporting young emerging artists for over 70 years. This is the third occasion that Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac has collaborated with Jeune Création.
