    FIRST COME FIRST SERVE

Join us for a conversation between Erwin Wurm and Hans Ulrich Obrist, Artistic Director of the Serpentine Galleries, who have known one another since Hans Ulrich Obrist visited Wurm's studio aged 17. The wide-ranging conversation will explore the artist's work, which has expanded conceptions of sculpture and the human form, his sustained interest in the intersections of the physical and the psychological and the transitory quality of today's society. The talk takes its title Look Up from one of Wurm's drawings shown in the exhibition, from a new body of work that presents insight into the artist's outlook and artistic practice.

The event offers an after-hours gallery opening of our current London exhibition Erwin Wurm: New Work, with an opportunity for guests to participate in the One Minute Sculpture performance on loan from Tate's permanent collection, which will be recorded in a photograph for them to keep.
